Milena Govich

 Milena Govich (Serbian born on October 29, 1976) is an American actor and director, as well as a singer and dancer, best known for portraying NYPD Detective Nina Cassady on the television series Law & Order.



 



 Education and early life



 Govich was born in Norman County, Oklahoma. Both parents, Dr. Bruce Michael Govich, who passed away in 1998 as well as Dr. Marilyn Green Govich,[2] are music professors: Bruce worked at University of Oklahoma and Marilyn currently teaches voice at University of Central Oklahoma. Her father is Serbian and her mother has Scottish and English descent. The aunt of her, Milica Govich, is also an actress , having appeared on Broadway, television, and film.



 



 Milena was valedictorian of Norman High School's class in 1995. After following the academic path of her parents she graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma as valedictorian. This time she earned two degrees in premedical and performance sciences, and the minor of violin and dance. Govich relocated to New York City after graduation to pursue a career in acting.
